Abstract

116,356. Franc, J. M. E. June 8, 1917. Locking nuts.-An elastic washer is formed by slitting a disk radially and circumferentially and inclining the tongues formed. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, the disk is slit from the exterior edge inwardly and eircumferentially to form six tongues, the tongues b are bent upwardly and the tongues e downwardly, and the tongues b are wider at their tips than the tongues c. The face ends of the tongues are separated by flat portions of the disk. In a modification of this construction, the free ends of the tongues b, e are adjacent.
