Gymnastic apparatus comprises a pair of elongated members 10 and 11, each of channel shaped configuration 'so as to have a pair of side portions 1O and 1Ob 11a and lib and a side connecting portion, 10c and 11c. The side portions 1Oa b of one member at or adjacent to the free ends thereof are pivotally attached to the side portions 11 a, to of the other member at positions thereon adjacent to the connecting portion 11c. Side portions 10a, b are connected to side portions 11 a, b at the end remote from the pivot by a tie means 14 which may be adjustable in length, said tie means serving to limit relative angular displacement between members. The tie means may be a chain, telescopic tube or, as illustrated, a tube on which are a number of spaced holes.
