Abstract

1,161,060. Coating apparatus. THOMAS GAMESON & SONS Ltd. 11 March, 1968 [10 Dec., 1966], No. 55402/66. Heading B2L. [Also in Division C7] Articles to be coated are contained in baskets 25 and are carried intermittently from a loading point to an unloading point in an arcuate path about shaft 20, and during a pause in their motion are lowered into and lifted out of the coating material in tank 41 by vertical movement of arms 22, then after dipping are centrifuged to remove surplus coating materials by rotation of the appropriate basket 25 and shaft 24 by its motor 35. While being dipped the articles may be subjected to an upward and downward agitation by tilting of the particle arm 22 by a piston and cylinder device. At the unloading point the coated articles may be released from the baskets 25 by lowering of shaft 23 and basket base 26, and may be quenched in water or other fluid. The loading and unloading points may be the same, and the coated articles may be quenched after being removed from the apparatus.
