Abstract
1,160,553. Nuclear power plant. BABCOCK & WILCOX Ltd. 6 Oct., 1966 [6 July, 1965], No. 28706/65. Heading G6C. The marine turbine 16 is driven by steam generated in the heat exchanger 4 mounted within the nuclear reactor pressure vessel 2. In order to effect the maximum heat transfer from the reactor coolant to the water in the exchanger, with a minimum heat exchange surface area, the system is arranged to produce wet steam in the exchanger. The latter passes to the turbine through conduit 8 and the steam separator 10. Water from 10 passes through the feed water heater 24.
