Packing-materials.-A packing-material, particularly for fragile goods or food-stuffs such as eggs, consists of loose tow or flax-card waste. which has been cleaned, treated with formaldehyde or a preparation thereof, and then dusted with an absorbent such as China-clay or fuller's earth. China-clay &c. takes up moisture and also serves to form a cake with a broken egg.
