1,159,558. Stabilizing polyvinylchloride. MELLE-BEZONS. 17 Jan., 1967 [11 Feb., 1966], No. 2379/67. Heading C3P. A chlorine-containing vinyl resin such as PVC is stabilized with an alkylidene 4,4<SP>1</SP>- biscyclohexanol having 1-36 carbons in the alkylidene radical and up to two alkyl groups each of 1-4 carbons in each cyclohexanol radical. Particularly preferred is hydrogenated bisphenol-A. The stabilizer is preferably added as a solution in a plasticizer, e.g. phthalate esters. Lead stabilizers may also be present and kaolin.
