[Also in Division F2] A positioning device, for a flexible conduit 16 intended for the loading and discharging of tankers, comprises a carriage 1 mounted, e.g. by running devices 2, 3, for longitudinal movement along a support such as a gantry with a guide rail 24, a first pair of pulleys 11, 12 mounted on the carriage 1 and capable of independent lateral pivotal movement relative thereto, a support 23 for the conduit 16, a second pair of pulleys 14, 15 mounted on the support 23 and capable of independent lateral pivotal movement relative thereto, and a cable 13 extending longitudinally of the carriage and passed about one of said first pair of pulleys 11,12, and about the second pair of pulleys 14, 15, and thereafter about the other of said first pair of pulleys whereby the conduit support is suspended from the carriage in a laterally shiftable manner. As shown, the pulleys 11, 12 are carried by brackets having shafts 9, 10 respectively which are mounted at their ends in bearings 4, 5 and 6, 7, the pulleys 14, 15 being mounted in a similar manner on the support 23.
