Pressure relief valve as claimed in claim 1 of Specification 1,144,023 modified in that the second elastic sealing element is omitted and the housing of the valve is made in at least two parts, at least the outlet for the liquid under pressure being formed by a gap between confronting faces of the two housing parts. The inlet for the liquid under pressure can be formed in the same manner. The parts of the casing are screwed together and the width of the gap is selectable by means of washers or shims arranged between the confronting faces of the housing. The washers may have at least one recess in a side face which serves as an outlet for the liquid under pressure.
