Abstract
1,158,367. Electric motors. RETOBOBINA HANDELSANSALT. 23 Nov., 1967 [24 Nov., 1966], No. 53352/67. Heading H2A. [Also in Division G3] A D.C. motor 8 has one of its commutator segments connected to a slip-ring located above the commutator and engaging a third brush 7 so that the frequency of an alternating voltage which is developed across terminals 9, 91, is proportional to the speed of the motor. This voltage is applied to capacitors 14, diodes 15 and filter 17 to provide a direct control voltage across terminals 16 associated with transistor 18. If the motor speed tends to decrease, point a becomes more negative so that transistor 19 passes more current to restore the speed to a set value. In another arrangement, one of the commutator segments is elongated and its free end is bent so that the contact position with the third brush lies on the axis of the motor shaft. The alternating voltage developed across the terminals 9, 91 may be applied to a frequency comparator which provides a control signal for regulation in the event of deviations of the motor speed.
