1,158,112. Surgical stapling instruments. UNITED STATES SURGICAL CORP. 6 July, 1966 [6 July, 1965], No. 7079/69. Divided out of 1158111. Heading A5R. [Also in Division B4] The subject matter of this Specification is substantially identical with that described with reference to Figures 1 to 17 in Specification 1158111, but the claims are concerned with a surgical stapling instrument for use with a precharged disposable staple magazine, the instrument comprising a C-shaped jaw having a forward leg for receiving an anvil, an elongated body connected to the rear of the jaw, a carrier for a staple magazine movable toward and away from the forward leg within the mouth of the jaw and a pusher head with a flat forward face movable within the carrier member for ejecting staples simultaneously from the magazine when mounted in the instrument.
