Abstract

1,157,731. Dyeing aromatic polyamides. ASAHI KASEI KOGYO K.K. 9 June, 1967 [11 June, 1966], No. 26768/67. Heading D1B. Aromatic polyamides are dyed in presence of, or after having been treated with, an alkylbenzene or alkylnapthalene having at least one halogen atom in the alkyl group or their derivatives which contain nuclear halogen or alkyl substituents. The preferred accelerators are benzyl chloride or bromide, α-chloromethyl-naphthalene or benzal chloride and the dyebath contain 3-30 grams/litre thereof. In a pretreatment at least 10 gm/litre is used. Acid, direct and metal complex dyes are preferred.
