Abstract
1,157,185. Electric heating mantles. H. H. GOLDSTAUB. 2 July, 1968 [11 April, 1967], No. 16634/67. Heading H5H. A flexible heating mantle of the type described in Specification 1,013,825, has a more rigid ring 5 extending around its mouth, the ring being force-fitted into supporting means near the mouth of a rigid container 9. Ring 5 is received in a ring-shaped socket 7 pressed out of the container, or between two rings of spaced-apart projections 13, 14, Fig. 4 (not shown), or in a ring of hook-shaped members 16, Fig. 5 (not shown), welded to the inner surface of the sheet metal container 9. Glass wool is packed between the flexible pocket and the container 9. A second rigid ring 4 in the flexible pocket, above the flexible heating element 1, is arranged so that the glass threads joining the rings 4, 5 may be held in a horizontal position, Fig. 3 (not shown), by glass wool, so that ring 5 substantially surrounds ring 4.
