1,156,527. Electric storage batteries. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. 12 Aug., 1966 [13 Aug., 1965], No. 36156/66. Heading H1B. More than 0À2% by weight of an oxide of Zn, Cd, or Hg is included in the positive mass of a lead plate battery. Optionally up to 0À3% (by wt. of dry negative lead oxide) is also included in the negative mass. Such inclusion is stated to improve the cold output capacity. Examples compare the effect of adding various amounts ranging from 0À1 to 0À6% of the specified oxides or of Zn or Cd sulphate to the positive mass. In some examples oil carbon and lignin or zinc oxide are included in the negative mass.
