Abstract
1,156,115. Distillation and sublimation apparatus, micro scale. SKLARNY KAVALIER N.V. 22 Feb., 1968 [8 March, 1967], No. 8668/68. Heading BIB. Micro-distillation or -sublimation is carried out in an apparatus comprising an vaporizevessel 5, a side-tube adaptor 6 which fits into the top of vessel 5 'by a ground-glass joint, and a condenser tube 1 having a spherical recess 2 at the lower end, the condenser tube being hermetically attached to the adaptor by a rubber tube 7 so that the condenser can be displaced axially within the vessel 5. Cooling fluid is passed through the condenser by means of tubes 3 and 4. Side-tube 10 may be connected to a vacuum pump. At the beginning of the distillation, the condenser tube is shifted into the uppermost part of vessel 5. After any foaming or bumping of the liquid has ceased, the condenser tube is pushed down so that the recess 2 is in the lower third of vessel 5. The distillate collects in recess 2, and may be removed by a capillary tube.
