Abstract

1,154,932. Barge tippler. STRACHAN & HENSHAW Ltd. 1 Aug., 1967 [2 May, 1966], No. 19148/66. Heading B8E. A barge tippler is mounted on a pontoon 2 having an open-ended channel 6 to receive the barge and a hopper 8 below water level and closed to exclude water. The tippler comprises two segments 16 driven from a motor 18 by a pinion 22 engaging the segment teeth 24 and has support beams 40, side beams 42, counterweight 44 and top stop 46. Material tipped into the hopper 8 is discharged therefrom by bucket conveyers 30, a primary conveyer 36 and then a secondary conveyer.
