Therapeutic amitotic compositions for the topical treatment of psoriasis and various hyperkertatoses comprise as sole active ingredient(s) a therapeutically active amount of 6- mercaptopurine, or 4-amino-10-methyl folic acid (methotrexate) or a mixture thereof and a pharmaceutical vehicle or excipient for topical administration. The composition may be in the form of a cream, ointment or liniment.
