Abstract

1,153,246. Spin-dyed polyamides. GLANZSTOFF A.G. 24 Nov., 1967 [15 Dec., 1966], No.53515/67. Addition to 1,089,390. Heading C3R. Spin-dyed polyamide filaments are produced by suspending a pigment in a mixture of butyrolactam and 10-55% caprolactam, adding this to the polyamide or polyamide-forming mixture and melt-spinning the pigmented polymer. The suspension may include an alkylated naphthyl sulphonate as surfactant. In examples, nylon 6 (1,2,4) or nylon 66 (3) are pigmented with TiO 2 (anatase) (1), cadmium orange (2), brown iron oxide (3) and soot (4).
