Abstract

1,152,932. Perfumes. INTERNATIONAL FLAVORS & FRAGRANCES Inc. 19 May, 1967 [20 May, 1966], No. 23506/67. Heading A5B. [Also in Divisions C2 and C5] Perfume compositions comprise compounds, which impart a woody-amber fragrance note, of formula:- wherein (1) C b -C a is HC-C and the broken lines are single or double bonds, or (2) C b -C a is H 2 C-C(OH) or O=C-CH and the broken lines are double bonds; (3) cyclised products thereof where C b -C a , is or HC=C and the broken lines are double bonds, and (4) the epoxide of cyclised 1, 5, 9-trimethylcyclododeca-1, 5, 9-triene. Examples are given of compositions containing these compounds, with conventional perfume ingredients.
