1,152,482. Coated plastics sheathing. TELEPHONE CABLES Ltd. 20 March, 1967 [25 March, 1966], No. 13413/66. Heading B2K. [Also in Divisions B5 and H2] A plastics material e.g. a polyethylene sheathed cable, is coated with epoxy resin by roughening the surface of the plastics material, heating the roughened surface with an oxidising flame until it becomes shiny, applying liquid epoxy resin to this surface while it is still shiny, and in a soft plastics state, to form an adhesive epoxy resin coating, and forming an epoxy resin casting in contact with the coating. The casting may be formed by casting the epoxy resin while the adhesive coating is still in a plastic state or the adhesive casting is allowed' to harden and is then. abraded before forming the epoxy resin casting.
