1,152,238. Rotary drum mixers. GARDNERS OF GLOUCESTER Ltd. 20 Sent., 1966 [9 Nov., 1965], No. 47377/65. Heading B1C. A rotary drum mixer has transverse troughs 12 which may be of V or W shape decreasing in depth along the trough so that in operation they scoop up material and discharge it as a curtain over the sides as the drum revolves; if of W shape both faces are operative. Additionally there may be a slot at the apex of the trough. They may lie in planes normal or skew to the drum axis and may be attached to the drum wall at one or both ends. There may also be a conveying helix 13. Material is discharged by a scoop 10 through an outlet 9 which may be blanked off for batch operation.
