Abstract

1,151,833. Two-part couplings. A. C. COSSOR Ltd. 22 Jan., 1968, No. 3323/68. Heading H2E. A clip 10 for facilitating the testing of microelectronic packages comprises two insulating rectangular halves 12, 13 two ends of which are sprung together to form jaws 11 which have teeth 21 with mutually insulated thin metal tongues 22 set between them, each tongue 22 being separately connected to a contacting point by a printed circuit 23 on the insulating halves 12, 13, the circuits 23 being fanned-out to the contacting points which are hollow metal rivets 24 passing through the ends of said circuits 23 and to which an oscilloscope probe (26, Fig. 2, not shown), may be attached. The two pieces of insulating material 12, 13 are connected by two hinge joints comprising two adjacent U-shaped metal strips 15, 16, connected by rivets 17 which retain coil springs 18, 19, which bias together jaws 11. Pieces 12, 13 may be of any material capable of having a circuit printed on it, or they may be moulded with conductor-strips embedded in them.
