Abstract

1,067,869. Thermoelectric devices. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Dec. 4, 1963 [Dec. 12, 1962], No. 46949/62. Heading H1K. A thermoelectric device comprising an assembly of two limbs of dissimilar semi-conductor materials, a metal bridge piece and an insulating base-plate, includes at least one pliable non- resilient portion which allows relative movement between the limbs. The pliable portion may comprise a plurality of U-shaped or S- shaped copper strips 6 connected between a nickel end-plate 4 of one of the limbs 1 and a ceramic base-plate 8. Alternatively, a U- shaped pliable portion may be included in the bridge-piece 3. A plurality of such thermocouples may be mounted on base-plate 8, the limbs of the thermocouples being suitably interconnected by means of printed circuits formed on plate 8.
