Abstract

1,150,615. Borehole logging apparatus. MOBIL OIL CORP. Jan.11, 1967, No.1568/67. Heading G1A. An attachment for filling the space between a borehole logging sonde and the borehole wall in the energy radiating and/or receiving area of the sonde provides a transmitting medium of known characteristics and is releasably attached to the sonde to permit the sonde to be moved upwardly if the attachment becomes lodged in the borehole. The sonde may radiate neutrons and the attachment may comprise a number of cylinders of solid graphite. The attachment may be fixed to the sonde by easily shearable pins.
