Abstract

1,149,754. Vehicle anti-theft devices. NEW ERA (ACCESSORIES) Ltd. 8 SEPT., 1966 [12 Aug., 1965], No. 34509/65. Heading B7J. [Also in Division F1 A steering wheel 38 may be locked and an ignition circuit broken by extending through the wheel a bolt 35 provided with a handle 36 and slidable in a tube 12 fastened to a lock casing 11 held by clamps 13, 14, 15 and bolts 17, 19 to a steering column 16. A spring latch bolt 26 movable transversely by a locking device 28 into the tube 12 and the bolt 35 not only locks the bolt but operates an ignition and or alarm switch 32 by engaging a button 33 with an inclined face 34. The bolt end may be provided with a buffer stop 40 or with a ball catch retainer, Fig. 4 (not shown). In the operative position the bolt 35 covers the screw (19), Fig. 3 (not shown) and prevents disassembly of the device.
