1,148,637. Mechanical seals. LINDE A.G. 23 June, 1967 [24 June, 1966], No. 29070/67. Heading F2B. A seal for a swivel joint in a pump comprises two opposing seal members 6, 9 having spherical sealing surfaces urged together by one or more spring washers 11, one of the seal members (6) being radially but not rotatably displaceable. As shown, rotation of the seal member 6 in its housing 2 is prevented by dowels 8. The seal member 9 consists of a bush mounted for axial movement in a bearing block 1.
