Abstract

1,148,219. Heat transfer oils. SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. 11 Dec., 1967, No. 56194/67. Headings C4X and C5E. A process for heat transfer comprises using as a heat transfer oil a hydrotreated cracked mineral oil fraction prepared by hydrotreating a cracked mineral oil fraction and optionally dewaxing the fraction before or after the hydrotreating. The hydrotreating may be over cobalt oxide and molybdenum oxide on alumina. The dewaxing may be by the use of urea and dichloromethane or dichloroethane.
