Abstract
1,147,686. Solution, mining; acidising wells. CONTINENTAL OIL CO. 5 Aug., 1966 [30 Sept., 1965; 30 March, 1966], No. 35264/66. Heading E1F. Phosphatic minerals, which are covered by a layer of non-phosphatic material, are recovered by passing into contact with the mineral deposit a solution of a dilute, aqueous mineral acid and withdrawing a suspension of phosphatic materials resulting from the contact. The suspension may be formed in the contacting acid or in water or additional dilute mineral acid. The process may be accomplished by two well bores one for feeding acid and the other for recovery. A similar technique may be employed in the acidization of wells.
