Abstract
1,147,275. Retractive pushbutton switches. E. MARQUARDT, J. MARQUARDT, H. MARQUARDT, and E. MARQAURDT, [trading as FIRMA J. & J. MARQUARDT]. 24 Oct., 1967 [26 Oct., 1966], No. 48294/67. Heading H1N. A snap-action retractive switch comprises a lever 10 pivotally mounted on a terminal 4 and pivotally mounting a rigid changeover contact arm 9 (see Fig. 2), a tension spring 11 mounted on arm 9 and a pin 13 and displaced out of the direct line connecting its mounting points by a constraint 12 formed on lever 10, and an operating button 14. Depression of button 14 causes lever 10 to pivot clockwise about its bearing on terminal 4. This lowers the mounting point of arm 9 and raises constraint 12 with spring 11 following it. Spring 11 snaps overcentre and contact 8 changes over from contact 7 to contact 6. Spring 11 may be mounted on pins 15, 16 or 17 to lower or increase the operating force. Constraint 12 may act on one side only of spring 11.
