Abstract

1,146,356. Transistor sawtooth circuits. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE THOMSON HOUSTON - HOTCHKISS BRANDT. 20 July, 1966 [20 July, 1965], No. 32663/66. Heading H3T. In a magnetic deflection circuit for a cathoderay tube, of the type in which errors due to the resistance R of the deflection coils 4 are corrected by feeding an additional sawtooth waveform to the coils, the main deflection and additional deflection waveforms are coupled to the coils via a common autotransformer. As shown, sawtooth current in deflection coils 4 is initiated by pulses fed to the base of transistor T1, the resulting negative pulses at the collector being coupled by the autotransformer aTr. Pulses induced in an auxiliary winding n3 are integrated at 3 to provide a sawtooth waveform which is amplified by the feedback amplifier comprising transistors T2, T3 and fed via the autotransformer aTr to correct the error due to resistance R. The scan amplitude is adjustable by the biascontrolling potentiometer P1. In Fig. 2 (not shown) the tappings connecting transistors T1 and coils 4 are interchanged, the auxiliary sawtooth voltage being provided by integrating the pulses at the collector of T1.
