Abstract

1,126,436. Transistor sawtooth circuits. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE THOMSON HOUSTON HOTCHKISS - BRANDT. 19 July, 1966 [19 July, 1965], No. 32457/66. Heading H3T. A class B magnetic deflection circuit, particularly for field deflection in television apparatus, comprises a series arrangement of two transistors T1, T2 and a diode across the power supply, the transistors operating in pushpull, pulses being supplied to the junction of the diode and one transistor so as to compensate for reduction of supply voltage of that transistor during the flyback period. As described, T1 is driven by a field deflection waveform at 5 and feeds an anti-phased output to the base of T2 so that a push-pull deflection current is fed to deflection coils L. The waveform at the emitter of T1 is differentiated by C3, amplified and inverted by T3 and fed to the collector of T2 so as to compensate for the reduction in supply voltage caused by the negative-going pulse at the emitter during the flyback. Capacitor C4 may be replaced by a step-up transformer.
