[Also in Division C5] A fluidized bed reactor for the combustion or gasification of liquid fuel, or the catalytic cracking or reforming of hydrocarbons, has a funnelshaped distributer 4 and an annular passage 8 surrounding the fuel nozzle 6 for the introduction of a stream of oxygen containing gas to improve the circulation of the bed particles fluidized by a gas passing through the support 4.
