Abstract

1,145,739. Slotting-apparatus. DERITEND ENG. CO. Ltd. 8 May, 1967 [31 March, 1966], No. 14307/66. Heading B4B. [Also in Division B6] In apparatus for slotting or creasing sheet material, e.g. board or plastic, in the production of box or other blanks and comprising a roll pair, one or each roll is provided with sheet material driving rings 34 which are each connected by a pin-and-slot connection 33 with a ring 32 carried by the spokes of a spider 30 journalled upon an eccentric ring 27 driven by a pinion 26 on a shaft 25, the spider rotating with the main shaft 36 but about an axis which is eccentric to the shaft 36 so that the spacing between the rolls can be varied without moving the axis of the shaft 36. The rings 34, which may be faced with rubber or polyurethane, are driven by bars 22. The slotting apparatus is otherwise similar to that described in Specification 717,730.
