The mineral-cutting pick and pick support assembly of Specification 1,142,141 is provided with supply means 48 to and discharge ports 44, 46, 47 from a reservoir incorporated in the support 40 of the assembly to ensure a delivery of dust-suppressing liquid to the cutting zone of the pick 10. A gravity controlled valve may be provided at the outlet from the reservoir when the assembly is mounted on a cutter drum to provide controlled cut-off of liquid to the pick.
