Abstract

1,144,244. Remote - controlled changing display signs. ENRICO BOSELLI S.p.A. 18 May, 1966 [8 June, 1965; 25 Feb., 1966], No. 22103/66. Heading G5C. A display device of the type having blades 1 pivotally connected to a motor driven rotary carrier 5 is remotely controlled by means of a control circuit having a plurality of leads in parallel connection and which terminate with e.g. brushes 9 which contact portions of a rotary roller-type switch assembly 8 having conductive and non-conductive segments such that with a remotely selected group of said leads as long as at least one lead contacts a conductive segment the motor 6 keeps turning but is cut off when all the selected leads contact non-conductive segments at which time top and bottom plates presented at a window each display half the desired character or sign. The blades 1 are connected to discs 2 and 4 by means of pins 10 extending into holes of the discs, the discs being rotated by shaft 5 and axially slidable thereon to allow for thermal expansion. An auxiliary motor 17 may be provided when the blades are large to allow for a longer and slower rotation of the shaft 5.
