Abstract
1,143,977. Artificial nails. INTER-TAYLOR A.G. 14 June, 1966 [22 June, 1965; 9 Feb., 1966], No. 26370/66. Addition to 985,388. Heading A5R [Also in Division C3] A kit of parts providing for securing a prefabricated finger or toe-nail to a natural nail comprises a prefabricated nail consisting of a material which is an acrylic or methacrylic polymer or a polycarbonate, an adhesive which contains the same material as that of the prefabricated nail along with the reducing component of a two component adhesive and peroxide catalyst system, and a priming liquid containing the peroxide component. In use, the priming liquid is applied to the natural nail and is optionally coated onto the inside surface of the prefabricated nail. The polymerisable adhesive is then used to secure the prefabricated nail to the natural nail and the excess adhesive is smoothed off or acts as a filler between the natural nail and a prefabricated nail which is too small. The prefabricated nail (d) may comprise polymethacrylate, the priming liquid may comprise polymethyl methacrylate, benzoyl peroxide, dibutyl phthalate, and methyl ethyl ketone, and the adhesive may comprise polymethyl methacrylate, methyl methacrylate, N, N - dimethyl - p - toluidine, titanium dioxide, and hydroquinone, the parts being exemplified by weight.
