Abstract
1,142,567. Monitoring operation of electromagnets. GROUPEMENT ATOMIQUE ALSACIENNE ATLANTIQUE. June 22, 1966 [July 29, 1965], No. 27953/66. Heading G1N. In a nuclear reactor loading machine having a gripper magnet Sp and a locking magnet Sv, each energizable from a separate D. C. supply the operational state of the magnets is monitored by connecting in the coils in the series arms of an A. C. bridge circuit as shown in Fig. 1, with capacitors and resistors 7.. 10 in the other two series arms. The D. C. supplies 6 are connected between the balance point B and the respective outers A and C. Filter coils S 1 , S 2 are connected in the D. C. supply leads and blocking capacitors C 1 , C 2 , in the A. C. supply. Any out-of-balance signal passes through amplifier 12 to a recording or signalling device 13. One of the D. C. blocking capacitors may be omitted Fig. 2 (not shown).
