[Also in Division A5] The invention comprises N-(3-chloro-4-trifluoromethylphenyl)-propionamide. It may be prepared by reacting 3-chloro-4-trifluoromethylaniline with (a) propionic anhydride, optionally in the presence of a diluent; (b) a propionyl halide, especially the chloride, in the presence of an acid binder and in the presence of a diluent or (c) propionic acid in the presence of a diluent.
