Abstract

1,142,459. Soldering. SCHUNK & EBE G.m.b.H. 8 Jan., 1968 [14 Jan., 1967; 21 Oct., 1967], No. 1145/68. Heading B3R. [Also in Division H2] A cable 5 and carbon brush 1 are connected by means of a solder 4 comprising titanium or a titanium alloy. Solder 4 and cable 5 are introduced into connected holes 2 and 3 respectively, the solder being fused by resistance heat. The solder can consist of titanium powder or powdered titanium alloy or a powder mixture containing titanium powder. The solder may also contain an additive of electrically conductive material such as copper, lead or graphite, or a combination of these.
