Abstract

1,140,731. Laminated lamp reflector. MOLERICHARDSON (ENGLAND) Ltd. 5 Dec., 1966 [26 Jan., 1966], No. 3443/66. Heading B5N. [Also in Division F4] A lamp reflector comprises a base member 1, a support member 6 having an undulating surface, and a sheet 7 of highly reflective metal foil having the undulations impressed thereon. Preferably the base member is made of sheet metal bent to the required shape, the support member is a woven fabric of glass or synthetic resin fibre or a sheet of metal having an undulating surface, and the foil is made of aluminium between 2 and 5 thousandths of an inch thick. The layers are secured together by adhesive 9, and the foil may be attached to the support member before or after the latter has been fixed to the base member. The undulations are impressed on the foil by means of flexible rollers, stiff brushes or pneumatic pressure, and small holes may be formed in the valleys of the undulations or in the base member to allow heated air to escape when the reflector is in use. One or more layers of heat insulating material may be placed between the support and base members.
