Abstract

1,140,347. Dispensing articles. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP. 6 April, 1966 [28 April, 1965], No. 15265/66. Heading A4T. In a vending machine having a plurality of side by side article storage columns, the absence of articles in a column and the absence of articles in the machine are both indicated. Associated with each column is a bell crank lever 31 held in the position shown by an article, and movable by weight of cam 43 and spring 46, when an article is not present, to actuate an indicator 45, e.g. a lamp. When all the columns are empty a bar 50 which is normally supported by at least one lever as shown pivots downwardly and actuates a switch of a 'sold out' light.
