Baskets.-The uprights b, Fig. 1, and the hoops a of a wire hamper or orate for a carboy are welded together, and the joints in the hoops a are also welded. Wooden or composition handles f may be threaded on one of the loops a, the handles being held in position by the adjacent uprights b. A piece of three-ply wood or other material may be arranged in the base of the crate. Tempered steel wire may be used for constructing the crate, which may be galvanized, enamelled, or otherwise treated to render it rustproof. In a modification, the hoops a are replaced by a continuous wire spiral e, Fig. 3.
