Abstract

1,138,757. Furniture joints. OFFICINE MECCANICHE RIUNITE S.p.A. 12 April, 1966 [9 April, 1965], No. 15860/66. Heading A4H. Sheet metal profile bars, having in cross-section two free ends disposed at an angle of 60 degrees to 120 degrees, are secured together to support shelving &c. by a connecting member 11, the free ends being clamped by bolts 8 between outer clamping elements 7, 7<SP>1</SP>, 711 on the member 11, and inner clamping elements 9 located within the bars. Helical or spiral helical springs 10 locate the elements 9 in the bars before insertion of the bolt. In modifications a piece of equipment can be located on an upright by forming an outer clamping element integral therewith, walls may be provided to form closed cabinets, or the outer or inner clamping elements and the edges of the free ends are formed with interengaging projections and notches.
