Abstract

1,137,609. Textile tubes; dye springs. " K " DYE SPRINGS Ltd. 19 May, 1967, No. 23494/67. Heading B8M. A dye spring centre comprises a resilient helical coil of wire and a lacing 11 of a finer gauge wire wound between successive turns of the coil, the bights of the lacing each comprising a straight part 19 connecting two curved parts or bends 20, 21 which connect with respective linear bridging portions 16 and are of a radius less than the radius of the coil wire, the ends of each bridging portion 16 lying alongside the ends of the next adjacent bridging portion 17 of the lacing extending in the opposite direction. Each bend 20, 21 is preferably produced by bending the lacing wire round a squared forming tool. The end of the lacing wire is preferably secured by being passed through a hole in the wire of the coil and being wound tightly round the coil wire. The lacing wire is preferably high tensile steel wire.
