Abstract

1,136,191. Flip-top container. PHILIP MORRIS Inc. 15 March, 1967 [28 July, 1966], No. 12178/67. Headings B8C and B8P. A container comprises a lid member 16 engageable telescopically over a body member 14 of thermoplastic material, a hinge connection between the members comprising a flap 52 formed integrally with one member and adhered to the other. As described, a hinge axis 56 is formed during deep drawing of the container. After a wrapped bundle 30 of cigarettes is placed therein, the hinge flap 52 is stuck on by means of a band of hot melt adhesive 80, which also sticks to the bundle 30 to hold it in place.
