Abstract

1,134,943. Diazotypy. KEUFFEL & ESSER CO. April 5, 1966 [April 5, 1965], No.15108/66. Heading G2C. Diazo-type materials comprising a fluidimpermeable support bearing in the same or separate layers a diazo compound and discrete thermoplastic particles are alternatively imaged by either conventional uv exposure and development or heat exposure causing the heated areas to coalesce forming fluid-impermeable image areas followed by diazo-type development using a fluid, e.g. NH 3 , an alkaline liquid containing an azo coupler, or a sheet which releases alkali on heating. The thermographic image may be fixed by overall uv exposure. Specified supports are optionally coated paper, plastics and cloth and specified thermoplastics are polymers of acrylic ester, vinyl acetate, ethylene and styrene.
