Abstract
1,134,290. Isoindolines. ARZNEIMITTELWERK DRESDEN, VEB. 8 Dec., 1967, No. 55888/67. Heading C2C. Novel compounds of Formula (I) in which Ar is an optionally substituted aromatic or heterooyclic radical; and their acid addition salts are prepared by (a) reacting X-CH 2 -CH 2 -OAr wherein X is Cl or Br with isoindoline; (b) reacting a 2-bromo-, 2-chloro- or 2-tosyl-ethyl-isoindoline with ArOH; (c) reducing a 1,3 diketo derivative with lithium aluminium hydride to give (I); (d) reducing an isoindoline derivative substituted in the 2- position by -COCH 2 OAr with lithium aluminium hydride; or (e) reacting H 2 NCH 2 CH 2 -OAr with o-xylylene chloride or bromide.
