Abstract

1,134,090. Excavator bucket teeth. A. RITCHIE. 11 Oct., 1966 [15 Oct., 1965], No. 45342/66. Heading E1F. In a side tooth assembly of an excavator bucket there is a tooth 8 that can be pivoted at 31 to the front 20 of the side wall 2 of the bucket and an adjustable brace 22 that can be pinned to the tooth at 14 between the ends thereof and to the side wall 2 at 30 rearwards of the front 20 thereof. Strain on the pins is minimised by providing in the vicinities therecf complementary abutment surfaces between the tooth and the side wall, the tooth and the brace, and the brace and the side wall. There is only the necessary minimal clearance tolerances between these abutment surfaces when the tooth assembly is positioned on the side wall for insertion of the pins.
