Abstract

1,133,877. Stop motion for warping machines. STALWART DYEING CO. Ltd. 21 Aug., 1967 [22 Aug., 1966], No. 37547/66. Heading D1M. A detector responding to excessive tension in individual yarns of a warp consists of a comb having flexible teeth; odd-numbered teeth are electrically connected together but are insulated from the even-numbered teeth, which are also connected together. The comb is positioned so as to deflect the warp from a straight path, causing the yarns to bend all the teeth in the same direction and normally by the same amount. If the tension in one yarn is greater than in the others, it will deflect its tooth sufficiently to make contact with the next, thereby closing the stop-motion circuit.
