Abstract
1,133,577. Permanizing latensified photographic print-out papers. ILFORD Ltd. May 9, 1967 [May 10,1966], No.20578/66. Heading G2C. Latensified photographic print-out papers are permanized by treatment with a solution containing a silver halide solvent which is a thiocyanate, an alkaline substance, iso-ascorbic acid or L-ascorbic acid and as an anti-sludging agent, a compound of the formula:- and X are hydrogen, halogen, alkoxyl, amino, alkylamino, carboalkoxyl, thiol, alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted carbocyclic,or heterocyclic nuclei or carboxyl, hydroxyl or sulphonic acid groups, there being at least one carboxyl, hydroxyl or sulphonic acid group present in the compound, and l, m and n are each 0,1, or 2. Specified compounds are L-cysteine, thiomalic acid, o-mercaptobenzoic acid, thioglycollic acid, #-phenyl-α-mercaptobenzylic acid or #-furyl-α-mercaptoacrylic acid. The silver halide solvent specified is potassium thiocyanate and alkali specified is sodium carbonate or sodium hydroxide.
