Abstract

1,133,238. Variable capacitors. R. HOPT. 31 Oct., 1966 [11 Nov., 1965], No. 48613/66. Heading H1M. A U.H.F. tuning device for television appliances having at least one cavity resonator comprises a stator plate 7 which is an extension of the inner conductor 4 of the cavity resonator and a rotor 11 with blades 12, trimming adjustment being provided by a blade 15 which still overlaps the stator when the rotor is fully turned out. Blade 15 is bent to adjust the maximum resonant frequency of the cavity resonator. The rotor blades are shaped as shown so as to compensate for the capacity loss when, on rotating inwards, the blade 15 ceases to overlap the stator. The stator is supported at corner 8 by ceramic 9 fixed to the base of the casing. Casing 1 may be divided into tuning chambers by cross walls, each chamber containing an inner conductor 4 with its stator 7 co-operating with a pair of rotor plates.
